One of Kenya’s best kept secrets on the adventure tourism calendar has been and gone for this year, and the SCC guests had great time, enjoying the ride across Kenya’s highest mountain and then the luxury for their stay at Borana Lodge, where they received a special price on a restorative massage afterwards.
The 10 to 4 mountain bike race, which raises money for Mount Kenya Trust, starts at an altitude of 10,000ft and drops through alpine moorlands, forests, and game-filled plains to end on the private wildlife conservancy, Borana Conservancy, at 4,000ft.
The weekend was a great success, with lots of winners in all types of races, including the downhill, the children’s race and even pony races!
As a company who has conservation at the core of everything we do, SCC supports activities and events such as these – great job everyone who participated, was involved in the running of the weekend and the hard working rangers of work to protect Mt. Kenya and the wildlife that live on the mountains.
