Our team on the ground in Nairobi will escort you to meet your pilot and guide for your adventure of a lifetime. Flying south east, you will intersect the Tsavo river on its journey to the Indian ocean. Flying along its course you will spot elephant, hippo and possibly crocodiles as you make your way southward to Tsavo National Park and Galdessa Lodge. This stunning eco-lodge is set amongst Doum palms on the banks of the river in the most beautiful location. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy the afternoon to relax by the pool and take in the surroundings. Go for an evening sun-down drive.
With the flexibility to go where you like, your pilot will plan an early morning full of exciting flying to see this vast eco-system from the air to look for some of its mighty giants. Mid-morning take a flight up to Ithumba to visit the Sheldrick re-habilitation program of orphan elephants being introduced back into the wild. You can enjoy watching them being fed and bathed whilst being in very close proximity to wild bulls who also like to join the party. An extraordinary and compelling experience.
Wake up early and fly across to the Chyulu Hills via Mzima springs where the rainfall from the Chulus bubbles up to the surface to create an oasis of crystal clear pools inhabited by fish, hippos and crocodiles. A life-line to all the wildlife during the dry season. Fly over the volcanic cones of this interesting microclimate and have a great view of Mount Kilimanjaro in neighboring Tanzania. Take a trip to a cultural ‘boma’ this evening and see the Masai.
Take off early and enjoy a low level scenic flight west to the Maasai Mara, via the Amboseli swamps and over Lake Natron and Magadi and the Nguruman escarpment arriving in the Mara in time for lunch. The camp is ideal for individuals as well as exclusive groups who wish to experience the Masai Mara in a personal intimate setting which combines exceptional wildlife with a contemporary ‘Out of Africa’ experience.
Enjoy an early morning game drive looking for wildlife and stop for a hearty bush breakfast. Meet the helicopter and fly across to the Mara Elephant project for an introduction to the conservation and anti-poaching project taking place to reduce human-wildlife conflict. Return to the camp for lunch and take an evening game drive.
Experience an early morning balloon ride followed by a flight up to Lake Victoria for lunch and a trip out on the lake. Return to the Mara in time for an evening game drive.
Depart early in the helicopter for Northern Kenya , flying over the Mau forest into the Great Rift Valley and northward to Lake Najuru and Lake Bogoria. Stop for a picnic breakfast at the hot springs from where you head east into Laikipia, to the slopes of Mt. Kenya and the Lewa conservancy. Your accommodation is an eco-chic African home with just four luxury tents, a cottage and private house. All the rooms are spacious and tastefully designed, with unique décor touches, a sitting area, big Victorian bathtubs, rain-showers, fireplaces and a private deck. Lewa is the original showcase conservancy of this northern region , partnering with its neighbours to expand the natural habitat for the indigenous wildlife species such as the black rhino and Grevy zebra. Both are on the critically endangered species list.
After an early morning flight to Mount Kenya, flying round the peaks and landing at some of the mountain lakes, enjoy a picnic breakfast on the mountain and try your hand at some fly fishing. Return to Sirikoi for lunch and then take a walk, drive or horse ride in the evening.
Take an early flight north to the southern reaches of Lake Turkana. Fly past majestic granite mountains , red cliffs of sandstone, vast sand dunes and a lake full of flamingoes before reaching the ‘Jade Sea’. An impressive, marathon of a day which will leave you in awe of nature. Return to Sirikoi for a relaxed evening and dinner on the deck.
Have a relaxed morning at Sirikoi and then take the afternoon scheduled flight into Nairobi and be driven to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by an SCC driver for your onward flight home.
“The last two weeks have been out of this world, unforgettable and more enlightening than any trip I have ever done before. Thanks to our flying bubble – we were able to see everything… people, animals, birds and countryside that few ever do. The memories of this trip have left a big imprint on me and their importance and relevance will reveal themselves as time goes by.”
