Borana Lodge guide gets Silver Certificate

Ben, one of Borana Lodge’s best loved guides, has recently achieved his Silver level guiding award.

This award was received after taking the test in November and passing with flying colours. Ben is one of Borana Lodge’s best loved guides and his ability to spot wildlife, especially the Conservancy’s lion population, is well known.

A stay at Borana Lodge acts as a direct contribution to various conservation efforts across the Borana Conservancy, which is dedicated to the sustainable conservation of land and wildlife. All proceeds from Borana Lodge and other commercial enterprises are invested into a wide range of conservation efforts. This includes the recurrent training and welfare of over 100 wildlife rangers as well as the protection and monitoring of more than nine highly endangered species, including black rhino, white rhino, elephant, leopard, cheetah and lion.
