PLANNING A SAFARI

If travelling for the first time to Kenya, we recommend no less than 3 nights in any one location in order to make the most of each property. For a 10-day safari, we recommend no more than 3 destinations and for a 14-day safari, we recommend no more than 4 destinations. As a guideline, most safaris will cost in the region of $1000 - $1500 a day per person however, our safari consultants will be able to help you plan according to your budget.

We use a combination of scheduled and private transfers depending on what is appropriate.

Typically in East Africa, guests embark on an early morning activity, be it a game drive, walk, horse riding, flight... Guests then return for a late breakfast/brunch and can then relax during the middle of the day when it is hottest. Once the day cools off guests are able to go out again choosing another activity.

TAILOR-MADE SAFARIS

SCC specialises in conservation itineraries where we visit worthy projects and properties that are committed to putting their revenue back in to conservation.

We have a great network within the East Africa conservation community, which allows us to offer clients the best wildlife experiences. Clients will get the opportunity to visit a number of conservation projects and speak to the people with vast knowledge on the area they are visiting.

As part of our love for showing visitors the beauty of East Africa, we welcome guests to experience the best that it has to offer. Whether a first time traveller, or a regular visitor to Africa, we aim to show you something new and exciting.

Whether your interests are in wildlife, African culture, conservation, hiking, horseback riding or total relaxation, we are happy to plan your safari according to your preferences, with the best guides, accommodation and operators in the field.

Welcome and enjoy planning together.

FLYING SAFARIS

Safari by private aircraft is the ultimate way to enjoy Africa's spectacular landscapes, as well as transport your self between camps and lodges in style and with total exclusivity. Timings are down to you and your pilot, routings will often take you around the most scenic areas of the country, and it is the ultimate luxury! The type of aircraft used depends on the itinerary and the numbers of guests. From flying around mountain peaks to soaring over the vast plains and deserts, this gives you the ultimate in safari experience. Privately guided, these trips are the very best way to see the countryside and get to destinations well off the beaten track. Africa is vast and being able to get to where you want to be, door-to-door, is a huge advantage. These trips are not limited to any one country and it is possible to move within most of the East and Southern African countries with ease.

For small intimate trips we use light aircraft and our own guide, Andy Roberts, who is a director of SCC. Andy is a very experienced bush pilot and a fun host and a knowledgeable guide. For larger groups and helicopter excursions we use other members of the Roberts and Dyer families who are experienced aviators as well as fun and interesting hosts.
